That package presents four possible items, and you're allowed to keep two of them. Cases are only one possible outcome among several, so nothing is guaranteed. 

The routine is simple enough. Keep Prime active, play on official servers, earn your weekly XP requirement, open the package, and pick your two rewards. A case being available depends entirely on the current reward pool that week.

This drop is limited to once per week. After claiming your two items, you wait until the next cycle. Since the pool rotates and isn't guaranteed to include a case every time, relying purely on this method requires accepting some unpredictability.

Buying Cases on the Steam Community Market

If waiting around isn’t your style, you always have the option of outright buying the cases that you want through the Steam Community Market, or through other third party marketplaces. This works well if you already know exactly which case you're after, since you're not gambling on the weekly pool showing it to you. The tradeoff is obvious, you're spending real money. And remember, buying the case alone doesn't open it. You'll also need a key, which needs to be purchased separately. 

Getting Cases Through the Armory Pass

In short? Yes. The Armory is a completely separate system of obtaining items. It’s available for purchase only for Prime Players, who after purchasing an Armory Pass convert their XP earned from playing into Armory Credits, with a maximum of 40 credits per pass. These credits unlock their own set of rewards through the Armory rather than through weekly drops. However, it should not be confused with the normal Weekly Care Package. Prime players can purchase an Armory Pass and earn Armory credits by gaining XP.  You could earn up to 40 Armory Credits, and progress is made through playing.

Trading Your Way to CS2 Cases

Trading is another option if you already hold skins or items with enough value to offer in exchange. It isn't free in the strict sense, since you're giving up something to get the case, but it avoids spending cash outright. Third party trade sites carry some risk, so caution around scams is worth keeping in mind. 

What's the Best Way to Get Cases in CS2?

For most players with Prime, the Weekly Care Package should be the default method, saving direct purchases for cases you specifically want. Taking a case when it appears in your weekly options tends to make sense, since cases hold trade and resale value regardless of what you decide to do with them later. 

It's worth remembering that not every case becomes valuable over time. Prices follow ordinary market behavior, dropping when supply is large and climbing when it tightens while demand holds up. Supply and demand decides that, the same as any other market, cheap when there's too much of something, valuable when there isn't enough to go around.
