USP-S VS P2000: Which one is better in CS2?

CS2 Terrorists don’t have to think too much about their starting pistol. The Glock is always there, it has plenty of bullets, and it does its job. CT players, however, actually have a choice to make.

Do you use the USP-S for cleaner taps, better accuracy, and the silencer? Or do you go with the P2000 for more ammo and a bit more freedom in longer fights?

Well, let’s break down the real differences and see which CT pistol is actually better in CS2.

USP-S vs P2000 in CS2: What’s the Difference?

On paper, the USP-S and P2000 are very similar. Both pistols have the same damage, armor penetration, fire rate, reload time, movement speed, and kill reward.

The real difference comes from the smaller details: ammo, accuracy, range, and how each pistol feels during actual pistol-round fights.

The P2000 gives you more ammo to work with, with 13 bullets per magazine and 4 spare magazines.

The USP-S, on the other hand, has 12 bullets per magazine and 2 spare magazines, but it makes up for that with better accuracy and a higher accurate range: 23.81m compared to 22.09m for the P2000.

So even though the two CT pistols are very close statistically, most players still prefer the USP-S over the P2000.

All-Distance: It has proved to be deadly at all distances as there's no need to worry about sparing bullets, as with USP-S.

Lower accuracy: 7% lower accuracy compared to USP-S.

Pro-players’ Opinions on P2000 vs USP-S

Among pro players, the USP-S is still the more popular choice. Players like m0NESY, ZywOo, and ropz are known for precise aim and clean long-range taps, which is exactly where the USP-S feels strongest.

However, the P2000 is not ignored either. Players like s1mple, EliGE, and dev1ce have used it as well, showing that the extra ammo can still be valuable at the highest level.

So while most pros lean toward the USP-S for accuracy and comfort, the P2000 remains a real option for players who want more bullets and a more forgiving pistol round.

Psychological Perspective aro

Some people believe that psychological factors may explain the statistical difference.

Many players associate USP-S with having good skills, and this perception can lead them to believe they perform better when using it.

Personal opinion after testing

Throughout the years of playing, I have always used USP-S and considered it to be superior. But for the sake of this article, I've tried playing with P2000 on different maps to see how it performs for a few weeks.

And surprisingly, I was shocked to discover how good it is at all ranges, causing no worry about the ammo. It proves itself worthy to be on the same level as USP-S, if not higher. After this article, I switched to P2K, which fits better with my aggressive, entry fragger style.

So which one is better: USP-S or P2000? Well, the answer is that it depends on your skills and preferences.

If you're ready to sacrifice ammo for higher accuracy and prefer holding long angles or playing corners defensively, the USP-S should be your choice.
