Released in March 2017, the Spectrum Case is what brought the butterfly knife into the modern era, and is one of the most sought after cases when trying to unbox a Butterfly Knife. Besides that, it also contains other legendary skins, most notably the AK-47 | Bloodsport. The price of the case on the market currently sits around $5.00.

The Rare item pool here is split across 5 knife models (Butterfly, Bowie, Falchion, Huntsman, and Shadow Daggers). This means that if you’re lucky enough to get a knife, you have a 1 in 5 (20%) chance that it will be a butterfly.

Released in September 2017, the Spectrum 2 Case serves as the direct successor to the original Spectrum Case. It was launched as Valve's answer to the incredible popularity of Chroma finishes on the Butterfly Knife.

Compared to its predecessor, the Spectrum 2 Case remained in the active drop rotation for much longer, resulting in a significantly higher circulating supply. As a result, Spectrum 2 became-and remains-a far more accessible and cost-effective way for unboxing the highly coveted Doppler and Marble Fade finishes.

Released in September 2021 as part of the Operation Riptide campaign, this case revolutionized high-tier knife collecting by introducing Gamma finishes to the Butterfly Knife for the first time.
