Introducing Genesis: CS2's Latest Weapon Collection

There's a new collection in the game called Genesis Collection, which includes 17 new, community-made finishes for different weapons. However, it's not available in a traditional case-opening way. Instead, Valve integrated a new system.
As part of the weekly rewards, you can get a Sealed Genesis Uplink Terminal, where you can get up to five offers to buy a skin from the collection. If you decline one, you get another offer and can't go back, and declining all of the offers breaks the Terminal and removes it from your inventory.
This brings a fresh look at the case opening culture, but only time will tell if it's a good idea.

Note that the new collection skins are not directly a part of the weekly drops, and the only way to get them is by buying them at either the Terminal itself, Steam Marketplace, or a third-party website. Any item purchased from the Uplink Terminal will come with an "Original Owner Certificate", which is valid until you're the owner.
Map Scripting
- Added cs_script, a JavaScript-based scripting system for Counter-Strike maps.
- Added script_zoo.vmap to demonstrate cs_script usage and functionality.
The new map scripting in CS2 means that map makers can now write JavaScript code directly inside their maps. In short, it makes maps more dynamic and interactive because creators can program their own logic with JavaScript.
This gives map creators a huge space for creativity, letting them create custom mechanics, and maybe, in the future, custom modes.
User Interactions | Weapon Inspect & Zoom

Two interesting features that got into the update are the ability to inspect your teammate's loadout when you're spectating and a zoom-in function when you inspect your weapon.
Whenever you're spectating your teammates, by pressing "F", you can see what weapons they use and what skins they have for them. It's an engaging feature that aims to improve team interactions.
The zoom-in feature is something the players have long been asking for. It's especially convenient when applying stickers to your devices and making sticker crafts with them. It works by using the mouse wheel to zoom in, and shift+drag to shift the position.
Shooting and Sounds
All grenade sounds were updated for draw, inspect, pin-pull, and throw functions.
This sound addition to the game makes each grenade special, adding to the competitiveness of the game. If before you threw a grenade and it was hard for the enemy to know what it was unless he saw it, now, it's just a matter of different sounds.
The last part of the update is the improvements to subtick shooting consistency. A lot of players previously complained that the game does not register direct hits from shots, and this update, hopefully, will fix that problem. However, we cannot value it until it's tested and used in the game for some time.
Speculations for The Future
Insider Gabe Follower shared some interesting files that Valve hasn't officially announced.
It looks like the developers are creating a remake for de_safehouse, which was used for modes like Arms Race in the times of CS:GO. It's great to know that Valve doesn't forget about our favorite maps and works on returning them to the game.

Next comes an Easter egg on Ancient. Gabe found a golden room at the top of the temple, which was not previously in the game. Along with that, there were files with a golden ball, which were never added to the game. Both of them are a mystery, which will be unraveled in the future updates.
Whether it's the new petting update or another pass, stay tuned to be aware of everything with us.
